Learning Pi App
Since the initial launch of Learning Pi in our schools in September 2021 we have listened carefully to feedback from staff and parents regarding the features that were needed to make Learning Pi a purposeful and useful learning tool. Working with our website developer, designers and a new app developer we have created a streamlined and simple-to-use app that can be used on tablets and mobiles by both parents and staff. It has three main features that make it a must-use tool for parents of pupils at our schools.
Snap and Share allows parents and teachers to take quick photos any time a child demonstrates one of our eighteen learning characteristics, tag it, caption it and upload it to the site. These Snap and Shares, as well as activities and targets completed all appear in the new Live Feed which can be accessed on the website and app and is a quick easy way to see recent activity.
Finally, we have updated and improved the Messaging feature so that parents and staff can quickly send and respond to messages instead of using 'book bag' notes. This also includes the ability to use pre-written forms that can be easily completed.
Previous features such as pre-planned activities, SEND targets and the Pi to measure growth of the characteristics will still all work within the learningpi.org website and over the next year will be added to the app.
Training has been created for all staff to be completed during our September PD days and the app and site will have its full relaunch in the Autumn term.
